Public realm improvements will be delivered on St Matthews Road (north of Hicken Road) as part of the Railton Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN).
We will be constructing a new raised table, footway buildouts and paving, SUDS (sustainable drainage) measures, planting and carriageway resurfacing
The improvements will help reduce vehicle speeds, traffic collisions, improve air quality and increase levels of walking and cycling in the area while supporting the local economy and positive equalities impacts.
Phasing and timings of the works
Things to note
A short section of St Matthew's Road will be closed during the works (between Hicken Road and the access to the Camsey House car park). There will be no vehicular access within or across the area while works are being carried out for all vehicle users.
To facilitate these works safely, warning signs and barriers will be installed in the areas affected. We will require no vehicles to be parked in the road within the working and safety zones, as indicated by cones and suspension signs. Any obstructing vehicles will be relocated to nearby spaces/roads.
