Works to begin at Marcus Garvey Way

Public realm improvements are set to be delivered on Railton Road at the junction with Marcus Garvey Way. The works form part of the Railton Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN).

We will be constructing a new raised table, footway buildouts and paving, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), planting and carriageway resurfacing. The improvements will help reduce vehicle speeds, traffic collisions, improve air quality and increase levels of walking and cycling in the area while supporting the local economy and positive equalities impacts.

Phasing and timings of the works

• Works will be carried out over 4 weeks from 27th February- 24th March 2023

• From 08:00 to 18:00hrs Monday to Friday

• From 08:00 to 14:00hrs on Saturdays

Things to note

A short section of Railton Road will be closed during the works (between Marcus Garvey Way and no. 25 Railton Road). There will be no vehicular access within or across the area while works are being carried out for all vehicle users.

A signed diversion route will operate between Saltoun Road, Rattray Road and Barnwell Road.

To facilitate these works safely, warning signs and barriers will be installed in the areas affected. We will require no vehicles to be parked in the road within the working and safety zones, as indicated by cones and suspension signs. Any obstructing vehicles will be relocated to nearby spaces/roads.
