Update - Railton Road Construction

1/2

January Update: Railton Road construction work

You may have noticed the works to deliver permanent improvements around the Railton Road traffic filter are progressing well.

There has been a short break in works due to the Christmas period and also the recent wet weather. Our contractor will be returning to site over the next few weeks to complete outstanding works which includes:

  • minor works to the rain gardens including the installation of a bollard in the southern rain garden for protection
  • laying of coloured surfacing in the carriageway
  • minor changes to existing signage

Whilst the majority of the works will be completed over the next few weeks, the coloured surfacing is scheduled to be laid when the weather warms up. This is to ensure the coloured surfacing binds to the asphalt effectively. Similarly, when the weather has warmed up, our planting contractor will be on site to plant up the rain gardens and re-sow the grass seed around the tree.

Similar to the public realm installations on Shakespeare Road, 81 Acts of Exuberant Defiance and the Brixton Project will be laying ghost floor poetry from Monday 15 January.
